Barnard Propulsion Systems
This is a survey regarding the development of the Signal Avionics system, coming August 2017.
If you're unfamiliar with active stability, or the Signal system, please click the image to learn more.
What motors would you like to use with Signal (below H impulse)?
HPR variants of Signal will be available after the low/mid power version has proven to be reliable
How many pyro ignition channels would you like?
Used for dual deployment, abort detection/deployment, etc.
More than 4
How many separate rockets would you like to add Signal Avionics to?
Not separate Signal systems, just different models you can move the avionics between
More than 3
Have you packed or used your own black powder ejection charges before?
Signal can use standard motor based ejection charges if you don't feel comfortable packing your own.
Yes, multiple times
Yes, once or twice
Do you have any experience writing code on platforms like Arduino or Raspberry Pi?
If you wrote some code that makes a light blink, that counts!
Yes, I love to code!
Yes, not much though
How long have you been building and flying model rockets?
More than 10 years
What NAR or Tripoli cert level are you, if any?
Where do you live?
Country and State/Province only.
What types of data would you like to see from your flights?
Examples: Thrust vectoring angle, rocket orientation, etc.
How much would you expect to pay for a system like this?
Less than $100
Do you own a LiPo battery charger, or have experience dealing with LiPo batteries?
What other advancements would you like to see in rocketry hobby?
Which, if any, rocket avionics systems (dual deploy, altimeter, chute release, etc) do you own?
What am I missing? What have you not seen mentioned as an important feature of Signal Avionics?
Suggestions, potential problems, etc.
